TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
At CYC-Camp Rosenthal we hire and train a full summer staff to plan and implement our summer programs that run from mid June to the end of August. Staff members are recruited through a rigorous search process and on boarded through a two-week training process unique to the program and geography of CYC-Camp Rosenthal.
Summer positions include;
Our Cabin Counselors are vital members of our camp community as they are the primary staff responsible for the well being of our campers who range in age from 7 to 15 years. Cabin Counselors are responsible for the the day to day supervision of their cabin including waking them up in the morning, tucking them in at night, escorting campers to their program activity areas, sharing meal times and supervising cabin time activities. Minimum qualifications include, completing at least 1 year of college or relevant work experience, experience working with groups of children, general knowledge of a variety of activities, and the ability to pass a First Aid and CPR course while at camp.
(Program Counselors include the following; Swim Instructors, Boating Instructors, Creative Arts Instructors, Ropes Course Instructors, Team-Building Instructors, Team Sports Instructors, Archery Instructors, Outdoor Education Instructors, Camp-Craft Instructors).
Program Counselors are responsible for planning and implementing activity lessons in their program area throughout the day for individual cabin groups and whole camp activities as well as specialized programming for theme weeks . Program Counselors live with our campers and share the supervisory responsibility of our campers with our Cabin Counselors. Minimum qualifications include, completing at least 1 year of college or relevant work experience, experience working with groups of children, knowledge of their activity area, and the ability to pass a First Aid and CPR course while at camp. Specialized staff are required to have the skills necessary to pass courses related to their specialty including life guarding certification, high ropes certification and archery certification.
Floaters must possess the ability to adapt to a variety of situations as they are assigned to many different tasks throughout the summer. Experience working with groups of children preferred.
Health Coordinators work under the supervision of the camp nurse and are primarily responsible for the health and safety of our campers and staff including managing medications, taking care of sick and injured campers and staff and responding to emergencies. Qualified applicants will possess the ability to work independently as well as compassion and organization skills. Minimum qualifications include, completing at least 1 year of college or relevant work experience, experience working with children, knowledge of the medical field, and the ability to pass both Wilderness First Aid and CPR courses.
Cooks; Cooks work under the supervision of the Food Service Manager to provide nutritious and tasty meals to our campers and may be scheduled for weekday, evening and weekend work during our summer season and for occasional off season work. Minimum qualifications include experience cooking for large groups and an ability to work in a faced paced environment with a diverse group of people. ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred.
Kitchen Aides; Kitchen Aides are responsible for assisting the cooks with meal preparations and for maintaining both the kitchen and dinning areas. Some relevant experience preferred.
Summer positions are for the entire camping season and include room and board. Applicants will receive detailed information on pay rate/job description at the time of their interview.
