Another amazing summer has passed, and there was so much to be excited and proud about. This summer we provided 300 youth from Chicago the opportunity to experience an outdoor adventure in one of the most beautiful environments, with some of the most caring adults. Every day at CYC Camp Rosenthal, our campers experience magical moments. For me, the magical moment is watching our campers participate in our program: from scaling the wall at our ropes course and zipping down our zip line, to learning how to operate our sail boats while a good wind pushes them to the middle of our lake, and smiles takes over their faces. It is so special to witness these kind of moments, especially when you see a camper is second guessing their ability, but an invested staff member consoles their fear and motivates them to step out of their comfort zone to learn something new.
Yes, camp is a special place where one day to the next things change and the entire camp just rolls with the progression and maintains a Positive Mental Attitude. No storm, power outage, or mosquito bite could stop the magic of camp. In fact, those shared experiences just increase the community’s bond. Camp Rosenthal has truly been a magical place for children from the start and we continue to strive to provide a safe space where children and teens will grow and learn new things about themselves each day.
